In this year’s European Parliament elections, the Conservative Party received 8.8 percent of the votes, making it the fourth largest party and significantly exceeding their expectations. This result marks an important milestone for Mona Juul, who took over as party leader in March after the sudden death of Søren Pape Poulsen. During her first party leader speech at the People’s Meeting, Mona Juul expressed great satisfaction with the election result. “It means a lot to have such a good election. It has been a very difficult spring for us. The election turned out better than I had expected in any way,” she said. According to Juul, the election result gives the party a stronger platform and more courage for the future.

This year’s People’s Meeting has also been marked by protesters, with a debate at the Free Press Society being disrupted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators. However, this was the only known disruption, according to the organizers of the People’s Meeting.
