Large scissors fall into ruins of burned Børsen building in Copenhagen

A large pair of shears, used to cut the scaffolding around the burnt part of the Børsen building in Copenhagen, has fallen into the ruins. This accident occurred during an operation where the emergency response team was trying to separate the intact scaffolding from the damaged area. The incident was announced during a press conference, where the operations leader Tim Ole Simonsen from the Capital Region Emergency Services gave an update on the situation. “If the shears are where I think they are, it will further delay the work,” he stated. Two cranes were working on the scaffolding on Friday, with their primary task being to cut the scaffolding free from the part of Børsen that was damaged by the fire. “I think it is obvious that this will not make the work go faster,” Simonsen said. The emergency services now face the challenge of assessing whether the shears can be salvaged from the ruins, and if so, how this should be done. This unforeseen problem adds an extra complication to an already complex cleanup process.
