After an extensive fire at Børsen in Copenhagen earlier this week, the Capital Region Emergency Management now expects to be able to conclude their work in the area within the next day. This should enable a reopening of traffic around the historic building on Monday morning. Jakob Vedsted Andersen, director of the Capital Region Emergency Management, informed at a press conference on Sunday afternoon that the emergency services will soon hand over responsibility to Dansk Erhverv (Danish Chamber of Commerce) and their advisors. “I think within the next 24 hours, the Capital Region Emergency Management will no longer be here,” he said. The fire, which broke out on Tuesday, fortunately did not result in any injuries, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The emergency services have been working intensively to secure the area and now expect that traffic can resume on Monday morning at 6 o’clock. Although the worst flames have been extinguished, there is still a lot of cleanup and safety work that needs to be done before the area can be fully opened to the public. This work is crucial to ensure both structural integrity and public safety. Børsen, one of Copenhagen’s most iconic buildings, has great historical and economic significance for the city, making the recovery after the fire particularly important for both residents and businesses in the area.
