Simon Bjerre Gosvig, who has served as the spin doctor for the late chairman of the Conservative Party (De Konservative), Søren Pape Poulsen, has chosen to leave his position. Gosvig, who is 34 years old, has been a key figure in the party since 2019 when he was hired by Søren Pape Poulsen himself. In an interview with TVMidtVest, Gosvig explains that his decision to leave politics is influenced by several personal reasons, including a recent move to Vejle.
“It was Søren who hired me. The one I put heart and soul into helping in the best way. I have recently moved to Vejle – so for that reason as well, it is entirely natural that I now say goodbye to Christiansborg, and hopefully find a job closer to where I live,” he says.
Prior to his time with the Conservative Party, Gosvig was employed in the party’s press service from 2013 to 2016 and also had a role as press officer at the Serious Fraud Office, SØIK. Gosvig’s departure marks the end of an era for the Conservative Party, where he has been a central figure in the party’s communication strategy and daily political work. It is still unclear who will follow in his footsteps as the next spin doctor for the party.
