The emergency services in the capital city have once again had to withdraw their personnel from Børsen (the Danish stock exchange), after being forced to resume their efforts due to flaring embers. On Monday evening, all forces were initially pulled back, but the situation quickly changed, requiring a new effort overnight into Tuesday. Following the first recall, the emergency services had deployed a fire guard to check the area every four hours to ensure that the fire did not escalate further. Despite these measures, the embers flared up again, prompting the emergency services to send personnel back to the scene.
“We have once again assessed that we can leave the fire site to damage control and have sent our last personnel back to the station,” the emergency services announced on the social media platform X. However, they emphasized that fire hoses are still laid out in the unaffected part of Børsen, so a quick re-engagement can be implemented if needed. This repeated effort is primarily due to embers in a wooden beam connected to a part of the building that is still intact and which the emergency services are working hard to preserve.
The situation at Børsen remains unstable, and the emergency services are ready to intervene should further complications arise. Residents and businesses in the area are encouraged to follow the emergency services’ instructions and stay updated through official channels.
