Danish Business Association Ensures Adequate Insurance Coverage After Historic Fire

After the serious fire that hit the historic Børsen building last week, Dansk Erhverv has now issued a press release reassuring that they have sufficient insurance coverage to handle the situation. The press release, which also includes statements from If Forsikring (If Insurance), Protector Forsikring (Protector Insurance), and Codan, assures the public that all necessary measures are in place. If Forsikring is responsible for covering the building itself, while Protector Forsikring handles personal property and business interruption. Codan has provided a construction insurance that specifically excludes coverage for fire damage to the building.

Despite the potentially significant financial burden that such an event may bring, it seems that Dansk Erhverv is well prepared. The organization has not wanted to comment on whether there is an upper limit for insurance coverage, but they have confirmed that they have been holding daily meetings with all parties involved since the fire to ensure an efficient and smooth process in the reconstruction of the Børsen building.

The fire, which broke out on Tuesday, April 16th, has been reported to the relevant insurance companies, and according to Dansk Erhverv, there has been great willingness from all sides to support the work of restoring the building and minimizing the economic and operational consequences. This incident underscores the importance of having robust insurance arrangements, especially when it comes to historically valuable buildings like Børsen, which hold significant cultural and economic importance in Denmark.
