After a period of cool days and gray skies, it finally seems that spring is making its entrance in Denmark this weekend. According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), we can expect a significant temperature increase, bringing long-awaited warmth to the country. Lars Henriksen, the duty meteorologist at DMI, explains that the temperature will rise noticeably from Saturday. “On Saturday, it will be between 8 and 15 degrees, and on Sunday, we will go even higher, with temperatures ranging from 13 to 18 degrees,” he says. However, the weekend starts with a somewhat gray and cool Friday, with periods of showers expected across the entire country. Despite the temperature rise, the weekend will not bring clear sunny weather. “There will be periods of sun, especially on Saturday, but also a lot of clouds and a few showers,” Henriksen explains. Sunday looks to be more overcast, especially in the western part of the country, where rain may also occur. For those living close to the coast, especially in areas with onshore winds, the temperature will be slightly cooler. “By the coast, temperatures around 10 to 12 degrees can be expected, as the colder seawater will have a cooling effect,” adds the meteorologist. Despite the variable weather, it seems that the warm spring weather will continue into next week. “We expect the warmer temperatures to persist, and there may even be a small increase in temperature midweek,” says Lars Henriksen. So, even though the perfect sunny weather is still a bit away, there is good reason to look forward to the fact that spring is finally on its way with warmer days ahead.
