After a period of biting cold, Denmark is finally set to experience brighter and warmer times ahead. According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the country will see a significant increase in temperatures, reaching up to 20 degrees in the coming week. The on-duty meteorologist at DMI, Jens Lindskjold, explains that a shift in wind direction is bringing warmer air from southern and central Europe to Denmark. “We are heading towards a slightly warmer period, and the shift is already starting today,” he says, adding that the sun will feel a bit warmer. Although Saturday starts cloudy and foggy in many places, it is expected that the sun will break through during the morning. Temperatures on Saturday will reach around 15 degrees, while Monday and Tuesday may see highs of up to 20 degrees.
However, the meteorologist notes that there will be a slight drop in temperatures later in the week. “Looking ahead a bit, it seems that the temperature will drop slightly again, but we will not go back to the bone-chilling temperatures we experienced in the past week,” he explains. On the cooler days, daytime temperatures will range between 10 and 15 degrees. This warm welcome of spring is good news for many who have missed the warmth and light of the sun after a long and dark winter.
