The summer music event “Grøn” has already sold out in Valby, where the festival concludes its tour on July 28th. This year, ticket sales have set a record by selling out faster than ever before, surprising the organizers. Grøn, formerly known as Grøn Koncert, has this year sold all 30,000 tickets for the concert in Valby at record speed, a first-time occurrence for the festival. “We have never experienced anything like it. Last year, we were completely overwhelmed by the historically great ticket sales, so it is hard to understand that it is going even faster this year,” says Theis Petersen, fundraising manager at the Danish Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
This year, Grøn features a star-studded lineup with artists such as Blæst, Tobias Rahim, Burhan G, and Jada, as well as the well-known groups Scarlet Pleasure and TV-2. There are still two artists yet to be announced on this year’s lineup. The tour kicks off on July 18th in TÃ¥rnby and will then travel through Jutland with stops in Kolding, Aarhus, Aalborg, and Esbjerg, before continuing to Odense and Næstved, and ending in Valby. So far, Valby is the only city where tickets have sold out. Last year, Grøn celebrated its 40th anniversary with a completely sold-out tour, and it is hoped that this year will follow suit.
The proceeds from Grøn go to the Danish Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, which works to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and promote inclusion in society. The event is a collaboration between the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and Tuborg (a Danish brewery), and it continues to be an important part of the summer for many Danes who enjoy good music and support a good cause.
