The Green Tour has once again broken records with their ticket sales, as all tickets for their final show in Valby on July 28 are now sold out. This marks the second year in a row where the festival has experienced historically high sales figures. The organizers behind the Green Tour, formerly known as Green Concert, have stated that they have never experienced such demand before. “Last year we were completely overwhelmed by the historically high ticket sales, so it’s hard to understand that it’s even faster this year,” says Theis Petersen, fundraising manager at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
The festival, which is a collaboration between the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and Tuborg, has been a summer staple for over four decades and is known for its contributions to charity through music. The profits from the concerts go directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation’s work. This year, the tour will feature performances from popular Danish artists such as Blæst, Burhan G, and TV 2, and will visit eight different cities from July 18 to 28. The tour kicks off in Tårnby and will then travel to cities including Kolding, Aarhus, Aalborg, and Esbjerg, before reaching Odense and Næstved, and finally ending in Valby, where tickets are now sold out.
Valby is the only city where all tickets are already sold, highlighting the city’s great enthusiasm for the festival. Green continues to be one of Denmark’s most popular music events of the summer, and with this year’s record sales, it seems that the festival’s popularity will only continue to grow.
