An unexpected work stoppage at SAS Ground Handling (SGH) today has caused delays for both departures and baggage handling at Copenhagen Airport. The strike, which began at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, has so far affected 25 flight departures with delays ranging from 20 to 60 minutes. Duty Officer Kamran Sarwar from Copenhagen Airport explains that the cargo handlers, who handle passengers’ luggage, have stopped working, resulting in longer wait times for passengers arriving and waiting for their luggage. “This means that people waiting for their arriving luggage must wait longer for it,” he says.
The reason for the work stoppage is not yet known, and it is uncertain when work among the cargo handlers will resume. The situation at the airport remains unresolved, and passengers are encouraged to check the status of their flights and baggage with the relevant airlines or via the airport’s website. This unforeseen event has caused frustration among travelers who have had to restructure their travel plans. Copenhagen Airport is working to handle the situation and minimize disruptions for passengers as much as possible.
