Currently, several Danes are experiencing difficulties logging into MitID, which is inaccessible for a number of users. The issue affects access to both public and private services, including borger.dk (citizen.dk) and various online banks, as well as the authentication of online payments. The Agency for Digitisation (Digitaliseringsstyrelsen) has confirmed the challenges on their website and through MitID’s official platform, but has not yet disclosed how many people are affected by the outage or when they expect the service to be fully operational again. A spokesperson from the agency has stated that the provider is working hard to stabilize operations and will keep the public updated on the progress of the situation.
This is not the first time MitID has encountered technical issues. Most recently in February, there were reports of unstable operations suspected to be caused by a denial-of-service attack. The Agency for Digitisation had also communicated about the incident through the media at that time. The situation is closely monitored by the media, and further information will be released as soon as it is available.
