This weekend offers both sun and showers, but it starts out with brilliant sunshine and temperatures up to 23 degrees on Friday when the School Run for children with critical illnesses takes place. The event, organized by Team Rynkeby Foundation, allows school children across the country to run and raise money for a good cause. According to Klaus Larsen, the duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute, Friday will be characterized by sunshine from the early morning and dry weather, providing perfect conditions for the runners. “It will be a quite nice Friday to begin with. There will be plenty of sun for everyone,” he says. However, the afternoon will bring a change in the weather. Clouds and rain showers will start moving in over the country from the south, especially affecting the southern regions. “There is an area of clouds and rain showers moving over the country from the south. It will mainly affect the southern regions with some rain showers,” explains Klaus Larsen.
Saturday will begin with cloudy weather, but the sun is expected to break through during the afternoon, especially in the southern parts of the country. On the other hand, Sunday will be marked by more showers than sunny spells. The temperature over the weekend will range between 13 and 18 degrees, depending on where in the country you are, and while Friday may be a bit windy, it looks to be calmer on Saturday and Sunday. However, this varying weather should not deter Danes from enjoying the weekend, whether it’s by supporting the School Run or engaging in other outdoor activities.
