Netto reaffirms partnership with Copenhagen Pride amid corporate withdrawals

Following a wave of withdrawals from several major companies, the discount chain Netto has confirmed that they will continue their partnership with Copenhagen Pride. This comes after both the Confederation of Danish Industry, Novo Nordisk, and Maersk have chosen to end their collaboration with the event. Netto, which was one of the main partners for Copenhagen Pride in 2023, has no intentions of changing their current partnership agreement. “Whatever is behind DI’s decision is a matter between them and Pride. For our part, we have no plans to change our partnership and look forward together with Pride,” said Christian Dahl, HR manager at Netto, in a written response to Børsen.

Despite other companies like TUI announcing that they will not continue as main partners this year due to budgetary reasons, Netto emphasizes their continued support. TUI’s communication manager, Mikkel Hansen, has expressed understanding for why some companies choose to withdraw, but also mentioned that an apology from Pride came too late, which may have influenced the decisions. Netto’s decision to maintain their partnership with Copenhagen Pride demonstrates continued support for the LGBTQ+ community, despite the challenges and controversies that may arise in connection with such events. This partnership can be seen as a sign of Netto’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity.
