The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) warns Sunday morning about dense fog, especially affecting drivers in North Jutland and North Zealand. The fog, which started to set in around half past two on Sunday night, is expected to persist for several hours, particularly in the northern regions. Duty meteorologist at DMI, Bolette Brødsgaard, states that the fog is of a “slightly violent kind” and urges motorists to drive carefully. “It’s something to be aware of in traffic, as you suddenly can’t see anything,” she says. Overnight, the fog has also affected other parts of the country, but with clouds arriving from the south, it starts to lift over Funen and South Zealand. Fog is defined by visibility below 100 meters, creating dangerous driving conditions. Although the fog is expected to clear later in the morning, today’s weather will still be characterized by wet conditions. “When the clouds have dissipated the fog during the day, rain will arrive for most of the country,” explains Brødsgaard. Temperatures will range from 11 to 14 degrees, indicating a cool and wet Sunday across Denmark. DMI urges everyone to stay informed of the weather forecasts and adjust their driving accordingly.
