If you have planned to take time off and enjoy the long weekend ahead of Ascension Day, here comes a weather forecast that contains both disappointments and pleasant surprises. The latest forecast from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) shows that the weather will first appear in its gray and gloomy aspect, but then clear up and offer sunshine and pleasant temperatures.
According to DMI’s duty meteorologist, Klaus Larsen, Ascension Day will start with a front passing over Denmark from the north. This will bring some cloud cover and a little rain. “It will be a cloudy day,” explains Klaus Larsen. So, it might be a good idea to get your rain gear ready and prepare for an indoor start to the day.
But do not despair, as the weather will take a positive turn already on the Friday after. The clouds will gradually disappear from the northwest, and the sun will begin to appear. “During Friday, it will clear up, and the sun will become more and more dominant as the day progresses,” says Klaus Larsen.
This improvement continues into the weekend, with DMI predicting “some or a lot of sun” and temperatures reaching up to 19 degrees Celsius. There will only be a light breeze, making it feel comfortable and warm. This weather forecast is particularly good news for those who have planned outdoor activities or stays at a summer house.
After a gray and wet start to the long weekend, it seems that both nature lovers and sun worshippers can look forward to some lovely days. So even though it requires a bit of patience at the beginning, there is good reason to look forward to the rest of the Ascension Day holiday.
