Health Insurance Denmark (Sygeforsikring Danmark), serving 2.7 million members, has temporarily closed all its service channels due to a comprehensive update to a new IT system. The closure, affecting both phone service, digital self-service solutions, and personal inquiries at local offices, began on May 8 and is expected to last until May 21. According to a notice on the insurance company’s website, it is necessary to suspend all services to implement the new system and ensure that it functions correctly before reopening. This means that new members cannot sign up, and current members cannot receive subsidies during this period. However, Sygeforsikring Danmark assures its members that no information will be lost during the transition. The subsidies reported during the closure period will be recorded and can be viewed in the self-service system as soon as the system is up and running again.
This temporary closure affects the ability to receive subsidies for services such as dental visits, glasses, and physiotherapy, which are some of the services members normally receive support for through Sygeforsikring Danmark. The new IT system is part of a larger strategy to improve service and efficiency in dealing with members and partners. The insurance company emphasizes that this is essential to continue offering the best possible service in the future.
