After a gray and misty start to the weekend, the weather forecast promises a sunny ending across Denmark this Sunday. According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), temperatures on Sunday will reach between 14 and 20 degrees, with the warmest areas located near the west coast.
Friday begins with cloudy weather and sporadic light rain, especially over East Zealand and Bornholm, but as the day progresses, the cloud cover will start to break up, says Mille Jensen, the duty meteorologist at DMI. “We see a trend where the clouds will slowly disperse and make way for the sun, especially from the northwest,” she explains.
Saturday will bring further clearings, and most of the country can expect “at least a bit or some sun,” according to Jensen. Although there may still be some clouds, temperatures will remain steady between 14 and 20 degrees, with light winds coming from the west.
Sunday looks to be the highlight of the weekend with plenty of sun across the entire country. “The sun will break through completely, so there should be a lot of sun for the whole country,” says Jensen. Eastern winds will bring light to moderate breezes, and even though Bornholm and coastal areas may experience cooler temperatures due to onshore winds, the evening and night will be dry and mostly clear.
Thus, DMI’s weather forecast offers hope for a lovely end to the weekend, where Danes can enjoy the good weather before a new workweek begins.
