The New Right party has taken the step to report their former chairman Pernille Vermund and former member Kim Edberg Andersen to the police for wrongful actions in connection with the party’s dissolution and closing of bank accounts. Both accused individuals have since left the party and are now members of the Liberal Alliance and the Danish Democrats, respectively. According to a police report accessed by Ekstra Bladet, the two former members of parliament are accused of shutting down the New Right parliamentary group and its bank accounts without clarifying the financial situation first. This action was taken after Vermund attempted to dissolve the party in January. Kenneth Korsbæk Olsen, the organizational chairman of the New Right, has publicly condemned the actions and describes them as “despicable”. He emphasizes that the report is not rooted in revenge but is necessary to protect the party’s interests. “We believe that something has happened that did not occur in the correct way. Because what has happened is completely despicable,” says Kenneth Korsbæk Olsen to Ekstra Bladet. Although it is uncertain what the consequences of the police report will be, Olsen believes it was necessary to respond to the actions that have had significant consequences for the party. Pernille Vermund and Kim Edberg Andersen have both refrained from commenting on the matter.
