Queen Mary and King Frederik have recently embraced their new roles as the royal couple with great enthusiasm and confidence, which was evident during their latest official state visit to Norway. During the visit, they had the opportunity to hike in Østmarka National Park, Norway’s first urban national park, located just a short metro ride from downtown Oslo. The visit marked an important milestone for the royal couple, as it was their second state visit since assuming the responsibilities of the throne. “Clearly, there is no turning back now. We are in the front row, and we embrace it,” King Frederik stated during the visit.
King Frederik and Queen Mary felt particularly secure as they were surrounded by both family and friends. The royal couple had enjoyable moments with both the Norwegian king and crown prince couple. “We relax well here,” said King Frederik, with Queen Mary adding that they enjoyed the company and companionship of their royal hosts. During the state visit, a gala dinner was held, with Norwegian King Harald and Queen Sonja as hosts. King Harald’s speech to King Frederik was both warm-hearted and encouraging, leaving a great impression on the new king. “King Harald is a very experienced and warm-hearted gentleman, who wishes the best and always wants to help a young king like myself on the right path,” King Frederik gratefully stated.
This new phase in their lives as sovereigns seems to bring both challenges and exciting new experiences for King Frederik and Queen Mary. However, with the support of both family and friends, and especially from experienced monarchs like King Harald, they are well-equipped to face the future with confidence.
