Safety Authority Investigates Disco Light Incident at Danish High School

The Safety Authority has initiated an investigation into a case where disco lights used during a high school party at Horsens Gymnasium & HF earlier this month resulted in eye pain for several students. This was first reported by TV 2 East Jutland. According to the reports, the light show was provided by the company Firedisco, which has now been contacted by the Safety Authority. A spokesperson from Firedisco stated to TV 2 East Jutland that they are “glad that the matter is being taken seriously, and that the authorities are interested in it”. It is still unclear what exactly caused the harmful effects of the disco lights, and the Safety Authority has not disclosed further details about their ongoing investigation. However, it is expected that there will be an update when new information becomes available. This incident has raised questions about the safety standards for lighting equipment used at public events, especially in school environments where many young people are present.
