The upcoming weekend will bring continued high temperatures across most of Denmark, but Sunday will bring a change for the southeastern part of the country, where clouds and showers will make their entrance. This marks a mild end to an otherwise sunny period. According to Klaus Larsen, the duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), Friday and Saturday will continue to be characterized by clear and warm weather. “Friday will continue in the same great track we’ve had for the past many days. It will be an almost cloudless sky,” he says. The temperature will range between 18 and 23 degrees, with cooler temperatures of up to 13-14 degrees on the east-facing coasts due to a persistent east wind. Saturday is expected to follow the same pattern as Friday, with temperatures in the same range. However, clouds will begin to gather over the southern part of Denmark, and there is a chance of some rain, which is expected to arrive on Sunday.
Sunday’s weather scenario will be a bit more varied. “Weather-wise, Denmark will split in two on Sunday,” explains Klaus Larsen. While the northwestern part of the country can look forward to continued sunshine and dry weather, the southeastern part should prepare for a cloudy day with showers. “There won’t be too many showers, but there will be periods of them,” he adds. Despite the showers, the temperature will still be pleasant, and it will still be nice to be outdoors, assures the meteorologist. The small low-pressure system, which is the cause of Sunday’s showers, is expected to dissipate by Monday, after which the weather will again be nice. “It’s just a temporary thing we have to deal with,” concludes Klaus Larsen optimistically, hinting that higher temperatures may be on the way in the coming week.
