The harbor in Nexø is shrouded in secrecy, as port director Carsten Andersen refuses to comment on the two gray vessels berthed there. He justifies his silence by referring to confidentiality obligations. This is reported by TV 2 Bornholm. However, it is a fact that vessels from the US Navy have been in the harbor for several days. TV 2 Bornholm has investigated the matter further and spoken with Jakob Seerup, museum curator and navy expert at Bornholm Museum. Seerup has observed the American vessels and noted that they are equipped with stealth technology, making them invisible to radar and used by the navy’s special forces. Seerup states: “This signals that we are now in a new normal where Bornholm is no longer excluded for foreign forces. We see a military presence where our allies are also involved, breaking with previous practices – especially in light of the tense situation with Russia as a significant threat to the West.”
