PostNord releases a new stamp featuring King Frederik. It is the first time as king that he appears on a stamp. The stamp will be issued on the king’s birthday, Sunday, May 26, but can be ordered on the PostNord website from Wednesday, May 22. “At PostNord, we have a long and proud tradition of celebrating new rulers on stamps, and therefore we are very excited to be able to issue a stamp with the king to mark the succession in Denmark,” said Andreas Brethvad, Communications Director at PostNord, in a press release. It is the first time as king that King Frederik appears on a stamp. Even as a child, he first appeared on the small pieces of paper. Since then, he has also been portrayed on his 18th birthday, Queen Margrethe’s reign jubilee, his wedding to Queen Mary, and for a collection for Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s Fund. The stamp will be issued in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.
