ICC requests arrest warrant for Netanyahu, Trump advisor calls for sanctions

Sunday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) requested an arrest warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for possible war crimes. Donald Trump’s former advisor, Robert O’Brien, is calling for sanctions against officials from the International Criminal Court (ICC) after a meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, as reported by Reuters. “We can sanction bank accounts and travel. We can impose visa restrictions on these corrupt prosecutors and judges. We can show real courage here,” says Robert O’Brien. O’Brien stated that John Rakolta, former US Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, and Ed McMullen, former Ambassador to Switzerland, also attended the meeting.

The Chief Prosecutor of the ICC, Karim Khan, requested arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and three Hamas leaders. O’Brien served as Donald Trump’s fourth and final National Security Advisor. His statements came in an interview with the news agency in Jerusalem after the meeting with Netanyahu. O’Brien mentioned that Donald Trump will be briefed on the meeting between the two. The request from Karim Khan will now be considered by judges at the ICC.

During Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, around 1,200 people were killed according to Israeli estimates, and over 250 were taken as hostages. According to the local health ministry, over 35,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza.
