For too long, many employees have suffered under questionable working conditions, says the chairman of the board. Erhvervshus Midtjylland (Business House Mid Jutland) is in need of a new director, following problems with the mental work environment. This was stated by the business house, which has offices in Aarhus, Herning, and Horsens, in a press release.
“It pains me to ascertain that too many employees have suffered under questionable working conditions for too long,” says the chairman of Erhvervshus Midtjylland, Ib Lauritsen (V), who is also the mayor of Ikast-Brande Municipality. Problems with the work environment have led to a resignation agreement with director Erik Krarup. The board will not comment further on the agreement with the now former director. However, Ib Lauritsen emphasizes that the problems with the mental work environment “are not solely linked to the top management.”
TV Midtvest has previously reported that several current and former employees have written letters to the board of the business house, expressing concerns about a poor mental work environment. “People have been called derogatory names, stupid, and incompetent,” a former employee told the media. The employee also described the workplace as being characterized by fear, mistrust, and surveillance.
A plan of action will now be developed to re-establish a good mental work environment, as stated in the press release from the business house. This will be done with external assistance, and a new work environment organization will be established. An investigation into the mental work environment is expected to be submitted to the Danish Working Environment Authority by the end of June.
Erhvervshus Midtjylland is financed by the municipalities in Mid Jutland. The business house advises more than 5500 companies in Mid Jutland annually, as stated on its website.
