The prestigious Michelin stars have been awarded, and it was an evening filled with joy and great achievements for Danish restaurants. The restaurants Geranium and Noma have both managed to maintain their three Michelin stars, while restaurant Jordnær has achieved a remarkable feat by going from two to three stars. The exciting ceremony was held in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, where chefs and restaurateurs from across Europe were gathered. Loud cheers erupted in the room when it was announced that Jordnær can now boast three Michelin stars. A visibly moved head chef, Eric Vilgaard, stepped onto the stage to receive the prestigious honor. “This is like a fairy tale,” Vilgaard exclaimed with great joy.
All three restaurants, Geranium, Noma, and Jordnær, share the commonality of being located in the Copenhagen area, solidifying the capital’s position as a gastronomic stronghold on the international stage. Updates on the distribution of this year’s Michelin stars can be followed in B.T.’s LIVE blog.
