The Danish Bar and Law Society has launched an investigation into two lawyers connected to the TV 2 documentary “The Black Swan.” This was announced by the Bar and Law Society in a press release. The role of the Bar and Law Society includes oversight of all Danish lawyers, and the documentary has raised serious concerns about whether the two lawyers comply with the applicable rules. “In the documentary, it is shown that lawyer Nicolai Dyhr has repeatedly had meetings with criminals and advised them on fraud,” TV 2 reports. Dyhr was immediately fired from the law firm Horten after the revelations. Furthermore, the documentary reveals that Lise Roulund, who owns a law office in Copenhagen, allowed an account to be used for money laundering for a Bandidos biker gang member for over a year, while also acting as their lawyer.
The President of the Bar and Law Society, Martin Lavesen, stated in the press release: “Lawyers must in no way function as assistants to criminals and illegal activities of gangs.” Lavesen called the insights he gained from the documentary very concerning and added that he strongly distances himself from certain statements made by the lawyers in question. The Bar and Law Society will use all available means in their oversight to determine whether a formal case should be brought or other necessary measures taken.
