PostNord announces major layoffs in Denmark, affecting 175 employees

PostNord announces extensive layoffs in Denmark, with the dismissal of 175 employees, 65 of which are affected at the distribution center in Taulov. This decision was revealed in a recent press release reported by Fredericia Dagblad. The company is changing course as part of a new strategy aimed at strengthening its market position as the leading package distributor in both Denmark and the rest of the Nordic region. This will result in certain parts of PostNord’s product portfolio, especially within pallets, general cargo, and part and full loads, being reduced.

Kim Pedersen, CEO of PostNord Denmark and chairman of the board of PostNord Logistics A/S, emphasizes that the renewed focus on parcel post is essential to strengthen the company’s future. However, he also highlights the difficult decision it has been to say goodbye to so many employees. “We have a close dialogue with the labor organizations, and we will do everything we can to help all employees move forward as best as possible,” says Kim Pedersen, underscoring the company’s commitment to supporting employees affected by the layoffs.
