Former DF politician joins Nye Borgerlige, strengthening party’s ranks

Another former DF (Danish People’s Party) politician joins Nye Borgerlige (The New Right). Nye Borgerlige is strengthening its team with yet another former politician from the Danish People’s Party. Pernille Bendixen, who held a seat in the Danish Parliament for the Danish People’s Party from 2015 to 2019, has now chosen to join Nye Borgerlige. This is stated in a press release from the party. Martin Henriksen, the chairman of Nye Borgerlige, expresses his joy over Bendixen’s decision. Henriksen and Bendixen have previously worked together in the Parliament as members of the Danish People’s Party, and he is looking forward to re-establishing this collaboration. Henriksen also hints that there may be more former DF (Danish People’s Party) profiles following in Bendixen’s footsteps. “I don’t think I should draw any conclusions now. Things are developing continuously. It’s no secret that I’m talking to former colleagues from the Parliament, but it can also include representatives from other parties,” Henriksen says to Ritzau. Pernille Bendixen justifies her switch to Nye Borgerlige with her good cooperation with Martin Henriksen. “I have always appreciated Martin’s and my collaboration and have always believed that Martin is a skilled politician,” says Bendixen in the press release. This support comes in the wake of Carsten Kudsk, who has also been a temporary member of the Parliament for the Danish People’s Party, joining Nye Borgerlige in May. Bendixen has also had several temporary periods in the Parliament from December 2019 to September 2020, where she was a substitute for Alex Ahrendtsen. In addition to her political experiences, Pernille Bendixen also has a background as a sales assistant and currently works as a driving instructor.
