Students against the Occupation have packed up their tent camp at the University of Copenhagen (KU) after a month. This comes after the university has made concessions that the movement sees as a step in the right direction, says Asger Trier Kjær, spokesperson for Students against the Occupation, to Ritzau. “We have received concessions that are heading in the right direction now. We have created momentum. So now it’s about making an effort in other ways,” he says.
Since the beginning of May, the movement has had a tent camp on KU’s premises as part of their protests. The demonstrators have made several demands to the university, including KU ceasing to invest in companies with activities in the West Bank. On Tuesday, KU announced on the social media platform X that the university will no longer invest in funds that include companies such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and eDreams in their portfolio.
