In a recently concluded survey, over 75,000 Danes have participated and shared their opinions on the design of future banknotes. The Central Bank (Nationalbanken) informs that the extensive participation follows the availability of the survey for over two weeks, since the beginning of May. The survey was closed on Monday, and the Nationalbanken expresses great satisfaction with the broad response from the population. Niels Kaas, Chief Cashier at the Nationalbanken, stated: “We are very pleased with the large response. It will provide a very good input for the further process.” The survey included three themes and eight businesses, as well as the individuals behind these businesses, as possible motifs for the new banknotes. Participants had the opportunity to evaluate the proposed motifs and provide their own suggestions. The specific voting results of the Danes have not been disclosed yet. However, Kaas emphasizes the value of the collected feedback: “The input we have received through this citizen participation is incredibly useful and hopefully will also ensure that the choice we make will be the one that resonates best among the population.” The Nationalbanken is now looking forward to analyzing the responses and using them in the further process for the development of the new banknotes.
