Danish activists set up pro-Palestinian camp in Copenhagen square

A pro-Palestinian tent camp has been set up on City Hall Square in Copenhagen on Wednesday. The camp aims to pressure the Danish government to impose an arms embargo against Israel. The group behind the camp calls itself “Palestine Square” and has issued their demands in a press release. According to Politiken, around twenty tents have been set up so far. “When the International Court indicates that there may be genocide in Gaza, the least Denmark can do is to stop all arms trade with Israel,” a representative from the group stated in the press release. Ritzau has not been successful in obtaining a comment from the group. According to Politiken, the activists are holding a meeting before they will speak to the police and the press. The camp demands that the Danish government stop all direct and indirect import and export of weapons to Israel, as stated in the press release.
