Former director receives three million after resignation. Erik Krarup, the former director of Business House Central Jutland, has been awarded a severance package of over three million Danish kroner following his resignation. According to information from TV 2 East Jutland, which has gained access to the severance agreement, Krarup is entitled to receive 3,102,800 kroner plus a possible bonus for the current year. The reason for the resignation was due to problems with the work environment, which led to a severance agreement between the business house and Krarup at the end of May. TV Midtvest has previously reported on letters from current and former employees to the business house’s board, describing a poor psychological work environment. A former employee told the media that employees were called “bitches,” “stupid,” and “incompetent.” The workplace has been described as being characterized by fear, distrust, and surveillance.
Business House Central Jutland, which is funded by the central Jutland municipalities, advises more than 5500 central Jutland companies annually. According to TV 2 East Jutland, an external consulting firm, Komponent, has prepared a report showing that the poor psychological work environment has been a persistent problem for several years. Mette Højborg has been appointed as the business house’s temporary director after Krarup’s dismissal. In a press release issued in connection with the dismissal, the Business House pointed out that the work environment problems “are not solely related to top management.” Ib Lauritsen (V), chairman of Business House Central Jutland and mayor of Ikast-Brande Municipality, stated in the press release: “It pains me to realize that too many employees have suffered under deplorable working conditions for too long.”
