Several patients at Rigshospitalet have been infected with mold. A new report to the Regional Council of the Capital Region reveals that a total of 28 patients have been infected, writes Berlingske. The report shows that the infection has spread to more patients and departments than initially believed. In 2024 alone, six patients have been infected with the mold from the hospital’s older buildings. Rigshospitalet is not yet sure what exactly caused the outbreak of mold, which has been identified as the specific type Aspergillus flavus.
