Cool and unsettled weekend weather with the possibility of sun in some places
Prepare for a weekend with cool and unsettled weather, where rain and clouds will dominate the picture. However, there will also be periods of sun in certain parts of the country. It is a good idea to have your umbrella ready if you are planning outdoor activities. According to Erik Hansen, duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the weekend will alternate between sun, clouds, and rain. “Friday starts fairly nice, but quite quickly clouds will move in over Jutland, continuing over the country with a lot of showers,” says Erik Hansen. These clouds can also lead to hail and thunder, while temperatures remain on the cooler side. In the morning hours, temperatures will range from 5-10 degrees, and they will only reach 13-17 degrees in the afternoon. “This is also related to the fact that the clouds will shade the sun,” adds the meteorologist. The wind will be light to brisk from the southwest, and there may be strong winds along the coasts.
Saturday follows a similar pattern. The eastern part of the country will experience nice weather from the morning hours, but an area of more widespread rain will move in from the west. Temperatures will increase slightly compared to Friday, ranging between 12-18 degrees. The wind will continue to be light to brisk from the southwest and west throughout the day, with locally strong winds along the coasts and gale-force winds along the Skagerrak coast at night. Sunday again brings showers, which locally may be accompanied by thunder. The wind will be moderate to brisk and locally strong from the southwest and west. However, there will also be periods of some or a fair amount of sun. Daytime temperatures will range from 12 to 16 degrees, and at night they will fall to between 7 and 12 degrees. At night, there may also be a few showers, but otherwise partly clear weather is expected.
