Danish Bar Manager Witnesses Incident Involving Prime Minister Frederiksen

Bar manager witnesses Mette Frederiksen after incident “A lady comes in and orders a cup of coffee, then she sits at a corner table.” This is how bar manager Søren Kjærgaard from Kulbar at Kultorvet describes the moments after Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen had been assaulted. “Then I see Mette Frederiksen walking,” he explains. Although he had seen her before, it had not dawned on him yet that a violent episode had just occurred. “She sits down and greets a friend. Shortly after, maybe 30-40 seconds, three to four men in suits show up, whom I assume are from the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET). They help her up and lead her away, while I hear that someone is being arrested,” Søren Kjærgaard continues. What did Mette Frederiksen look like, are there signs of injury? “I couldn’t see any physical injuries. However, her movements and behavior were more rushed and frantic than usual,” Søren Kjærgaard explains. Although he did not notice visible injuries, he observed that the Prime Minister seemed slightly shaken. “But I didn’t focus on it as suddenly a lot was happening around the table, and she was quickly led away,” he says. Subsequently, Mette Frederiksen was escorted out to the middle of Kultorvet, where she got into a car and was driven away, concluding Søren Kjærgaard’s account.
