A man was lightly injured on Saturday afternoon after an explosion on a ship in Nykøbing Mors, Denmark. According to information from TV Midtvest, the explosion likely occurred while the man was cleaning a gasoline tank. The Mid and West Jutland Police (Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi) are working to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident. Duty officer Anders Bøje Hansen stated to TV Midtvest that the explosion may have occurred due to ignited vapors from the tank, but this has not yet been confirmed. The man, who suffered burns and various injuries, was quickly transported to Thisted Hospital for further examination and treatment. The fire department and police received the report of the explosion at 14:15, and an ambulance also arrived quickly at the scene. A local cottage owner told the media that he heard a “huge bang,” after which people in the area gathered to find out what had happened.
