SF appears to be the largest party in the upcoming EU parliamentary elections, while both the Social Democrats and Venstre are set to decline compared to the 2019 election. According to forecasts from DR and TV 2, the Social Democrats will lose 5.9 percentage points of the votes, while Venstre will experience an even greater decline of almost nine percentage points. In the 2019 election, Venstre was the largest party with 23.5% of the votes, but the latest forecasts show that the party is now only set to receive 14.7%. As a result, the Social Democrats will likely end up with three seats, the same number as in the last election, while Venstre will decrease from four to two seats. The Moderates, who are participating in the government for the first time in an EU parliamentary election, are set to receive one seat with 6.0% of the votes according to both DR and TV 2’s forecasts.
SF is poised to become the largest party with between 17.2 and 17.6% of the votes according to the two forecasts. Despite Venstre’s significant decline, the party’s leader, Troels Lund Poulsen, expressed satisfaction with the election result. He highlights that many had written off Venstre, but the party has shown itself to be strong and historic by achieving approximately 15% of the votes. It is important to emphasize that a forecast is not a final result, but a projected assessment based on polling station measurements, counted votes, and relevant data from polls.
