Danish PM’s Daughter Injured in Boating Accident on Election Day

During the hustle and bustle of election day, an unfortunate incident occurred for the family of Lars Løkke Rasmussen. His daughter, Lisa Løkke, was injured during a boat trip in Copenhagen, which resulted in her having to go to Rigshospitalet (National Hospital). Bergur Løkke Rasmussen, Lisa Løkke’s brother, recounted the incident at the Moderates’ (Moderates) election party. “The last thing I heard is that she escaped with a fright and some bruises,” he said, adding that it is still uncertain whether Lisa will be able to attend the party. “It was a nasty surprise,” he stated. Lars Løkke Rasmussen elaborated on what had happened earlier in the day. “Unfortunately, what happened was that my daughter got caught between the bridge and the boat with her head. So, it was not very pleasant,” he explained, adding, “She has some quite large swellings on her head, but I believe and hope that everything went well. But, of course, we were shocked.” The cause of the accident was high water levels, which caused the boat to get stuck under one of the bridges, leading to the unfortunate situation. In the process, Lars Løkke Rasmussen himself also got injured in his hand, however, without serious consequences. “I just got a few scratches and some swelling. It’s not a big problem. Overall, there is no major issue,” he reassured.
