DR documentary exposes sexism in music industry with celebrity testimonies

Former MGP (Melodi Grand Prix) winner Anne Gadegaard and TV host Annette Heick are participating in a new documentary by DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) that focuses on sexism in the music industry. The documentary, titled “You must be young and fuckable,” will be released on Monday at 6 am on DR TV, shedding light on the challenges women face in the music industry.

According to the program description accessed by Ekstra Bladet, the documentary reveals that eight out of ten young women in the music industry have experienced boundary-crossing behavior. Several established and upcoming female musicians share their experiences with sexism and point to an older male artist who allegedly exhibited inappropriate behavior towards young women.

In addition to Anne Gadegaard and Annette Heick, singer Stine Bramsen, former member of the group Alphabeat, and singer and former judge on X Factor, Pernille Rosendahl, are also featured in the documentary. They all contribute to the documentary by sharing their personal experiences with sexism in the industry.

DR has also released a press photo showing images of some of the women participating in the documentary, including Anne Gadegaard and Annette Heick. The documentary is expected to stimulate debate and further emphasize the necessity of addressing sexism in the music industry.
