Danish Justice Minister Requests Police to Count Gang Members on Disability

Justice Minister has requested the police to count the number of gang members on early retirement After the release of a TV 2 documentary, Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard (S) has asked the police to compile a list of how many bikers and gang members receive early retirement. This is reported by Berlingske. The documentary “The Black Swan” has revealed, among other things, that two Bandidos bikers on early retirement are involved in extensive money laundering. This has prompted the Justice Minister to react. Hummelgaard told Berlingske that a manual review of a large number of cases is necessary to identify how many registered gang members are on early retirement. – In light of the current debate and to consider any rule changes, I have asked the police to carry out this tally. We need to uncover the extent of the problem with gang members on early retirement, he said in an email to the newspaper. The documentary has sparked a debate on how the early retirement system is being abused, and the Justice Minister’s statement is a step towards getting a handle on the problem.
