Danish Liberal Alliance Reflects on EU Election Results and Future Strategy

Alex Vanopslagh has expressed that Liberal Alliance (LA) had the potential to achieve more than seven percent of the votes in the recently held EU election. On the social media platform X, Vanopslagh reflected on the party’s performance and noted that LA lost momentum during the election campaign, resulting in a less successful outcome than expected. Although the result did not fully meet expectations, Vanopslagh emphasizes that the party is not disheartened. Instead, they will use the experience as a source of learning that can make them stronger and more astute in future election campaigns.

Henrik Dahl, the lead candidate for Liberal Alliance, and Mads Strange, number two on the list, have both played key roles in the party’s first entry into the European Parliament. Vanopslagh, however, views the overall conservative result in a positive light, highlighting that parties such as Danish People’s Party, Denmark Democrats, and The Conservatives each obtained a seat. At the same time, he praises Venstre for a strong election result and congratulates his conservative colleagues.

SF ended up being the largest party in the EU election, and a total of 15 politicians will be elected to Brussels. It is expected that the personal vote counts will be tallied later in the week.
