Thirteen women have shared their boundary-crossing experiences with a well-known Danish male musician. Five of the women describe incidents involving the same man. The documentary, released by DR, explores systemic sexism in the music industry. A significant part of the initial episodes of the series focuses on the women’s experiences with the musician. Stine Bramsen, former member of Alphabeat, recounts an episode from 2009, where she was offered to sing a duet with the musician. During a conversation, the tone turned uncomfortable as she was invited to his home to drink wine. “It felt like I had to negotiate for the duet by giving something in return,” she says in the documentary. An anonymous woman reveals that she had a secret romantic relationship with the musician, which started when she was just 16 years old. Singer Signe Svendsen describes a night where she and the musician stayed overnight at another musician’s apartment after a concert. She woke up to the musician crawling under her duvet and touching her. In total, 13 women participate in the documentary, but DR and the production company Impact TV have interviewed over 150 people in their research. Eight of the 150 women have experienced boundary-crossing behavior from the male musician. However, he has chosen not to comment on the accusations in the documentary.
