Danish People’s Party secures 6.4% of votes in EU elections

Danish People’s Party achieves 6.4% of the votes in the EU Parliamentary election. Danish People’s Party has secured 6.4 percent of the votes in the recently concluded EU Parliamentary election, according to data from KMD. The party thus obtains one seat in the EU Parliament, as shown by the official count of the votes. The votes were fully counted around 1 am on Monday. Anders Vistisen, lead candidate for Danish People’s Party, is expected to be elected to the EU Parliament, but the final confirmation will only be available later on Monday when the personal votes have been tallied. Danish People’s Party has positioned itself throughout the election campaign as Denmark’s only EU-critical party. “It means something in the resurgence of Danish People’s Party, but it means something even more that the EU opposition is still represented in Brussels and Strasbourg,” said Anders Vistisen earlier on Sunday evening, based on a forecast that also indicated the party would get a seat.
