The Danish summer weather is as unpredictable as always and in the coming week, it will offer a mix of rain showers and periods of sunshine. According to Henning Gisselø, the duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), we can expect a cool summer weather with temperatures around 15 degrees Celsius. – “It will be a bit mixed. Cool summer weather with rain showers at times – but also with sunshine,” says Gisselø about the upcoming week.
On Monday, there will be a few light rain showers, but as the day progresses, the shower activity will decrease, and the sun may appear. The current cool air mass surrounding Denmark is the reason for the unstable weather and frequent showers. – “Occasionally, there will be a more organized rain area, for example, early Tuesday morning where the southeastern part of the country will experience more continuous rain,” explains Gisselø.
In addition, one can expect light to fresh winds, which can become strong along the coasts. However, there are brighter prospects for the weekend. Henning Gisselø explains that warmer air masses from the east and southeast will begin to move in, which could raise temperatures to around 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday. However, the warmer weather does not necessarily mean more sunshine. – “On the other hand, it won’t be super sunny weather. There will be rain at times – just a bit warmer,” concludes Gisselø.
