TV 2’s exit poll underestimated the support for the Social Democrats and the Liberal Party TV 2’s exit poll, conducted by Megafon, turned out to miss the mark for several parties, including the Social Democrats and the Liberal Party. News Manager at TV 2 News, Jacob Kwon, expresses disappointment over the inaccurate poll and announces a thorough evaluation. “The forecast from Megafon seems to be quite accurate, but unfortunately the exit poll is too imprecise. We are naturally sorry about this and we will now conduct a thorough evaluation of the polls together with Megafon,” he tells TV 2. In particular, the Social Democrats and the Liberal Party were underestimated in the exit poll. According to the poll, the Social Democrats were projected to receive 18 percent of the votes, while the Liberal Party was expected to get 11.6 percent. However, three hours later, the forecast showed that the Social Democrats were at 15.6 percent, and the Liberal Party at 14.7 percent. The Liberal Alliance also experienced a deviation, ending up with a lower share of the votes in the forecast – 7 percent compared to 9.7 percent in the exit poll. Asger Nielsen, director at Megafon, acknowledges that the exit poll could have been better, but also points out that it falls within the statistical uncertainty and margin of error of three percent. Jacob Kwon highlights that TV 2 will now go through the process in collaboration with Megafon to improve future polls.
