Several booking agencies have removed Martin Brygmann from their lists due to allegations of inappropriate behavior. According to Ekstra Bladet, agencies such as Jangmarks Agentur, Arte Booking, and Athenas have taken the step to remove the well-known actor and musician from their websites. Jørgen Jangmark, director of Jangmarks Agentur, told Ekstra Bladet that the decision was necessary. “I decide who I want on my website,” he said, adding, “We can’t sell him anymore.” The decision comes in the wake of a DR documentary focusing on sexism in the music industry. Several female musicians share their experiences with inappropriate behavior, some of which are reportedly linked to Brygmann. Although the documentary anonymizes the individuals discussed, Brygmann himself revealed on Facebook that parts of the broadcast are about him.
In a social media post, Brygmann acknowledged the difficult situation his collaborators find themselves in. “They will be contacted by the press in the coming days for answers to whether they still have me on the program,” he wrote, also announcing that he has chosen to take a break in the coming months and cancel his events. Brygmann also claims that he and his lawyer have been trying to engage in a dialogue with DR for months to point out inaccuracies in the documentary and present evidence for the allegations. It is still unclear how the case will develop, but it is evident that it has already had significant consequences for Martin Brygmann’s career.
