Denmark contributes with 100 Patriot missiles to Ukraine in collaboration with allied nations. In a joint effort with Germany, the Netherlands, and Norway, Denmark is sending 100 Patriot missiles to Ukraine. This initiative is part of a collaboration between the four countries aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s air defense. Norway’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the news on Tuesday through the Norwegian news agency NTB. Norway’s Defense Minister, Bjørn Arild Gram, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and emphasized the importance of providing critical air defense systems. “I am very pleased that we have been able to form this joint team with allies to contribute with critical and important air defense,” said Gram. The total donation of the 100 missiles was also mentioned earlier in the day by the German news agency dpa. According to NTB, Norway is contributing 125 million euros to the effort. Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M) stated in May, in connection with the 18th Danish aid package to Ukraine, that Denmark had set aside one billion Danish kroner to purchase the German Patriot air defense system. As early as April, the Danish government announced its willingness to support the financing of the requested air defense systems, even though Denmark does not possess these systems itself. A month later, the government announced a donation of 5.6 billion Danish kroner in the 18th aid package, half of which would go towards Ukraine’s air defense. Ritzau has attempted to obtain a comment from the Ministry of Defense in Denmark.
