Nicki Minaj disappoints fans: Long wait and low level

The audience at the Royal Arena in Amager had to wait almost three hours before rap star Nicki Minaj finally took the stage as part of her “Pink Friday 2” tour. However, this long wait turned out not to be worth the trouble, according to several reviewers.

Ekstra Bladet’s music critic Thomas Treo gave the concert two out of six stars and described the experience as “completely blown”. Treo noted that while Nicki Minaj opened with the song “I’m the Best”, she did not live up to this title when it came to delivering a concert. He pointed out that even though there were moments where she delivered, the overall quality was low. “Most of her goofy set was off the mark. Especially the ‘sincere’ ballad ‘Fallin 4 U’ fell catastrophically flat in a tasteless and erratic freak show, devoid of flow,” writes Thomas Treo.

At B.T., the review is even harsher. The newspaper’s critic, Kristian Dam Nygaard, gives the concert only one out of six stars and describes it as “disastrously bad”. He notes that Nicki Minaj went on stage at 10:53 PM, which was almost three hours later than the scheduled start time. “Even though Nicki Minaj had chosen to keep her audience waiting for a couple of hours, she still wasted too much time on slow outfit changes, which gradually killed the concert more and more,” writes Kristian Dam Nygaard.

Nicki Minaj continues her tour in Stockholm on Wednesday night, and it will be interesting to see if she manages to deliver a better experience for her Swedish fans.
